The CMAP’s committees

Mediation and arbitration committees

They are composed of a Chairman and of two members who are chosen among CMAP’s institutional partner representatives (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris region Île-de-France, Commercial Court of Paris, the Paris Bar and the French National Association of Chartered Accountants)

It is instructed to:

  • examine the applications of neutrals wishing to provide their assistance to the center;
  • appoint neutrals in proceedings pending before CMAP;
  • manage problems that might occur during proceedings and that are pending before the Centre (eg a neutral challenge).

The Mediation committee

It is currently chaired by Mr Francis Casorla, Honorary Advocate General at the Court of Cassation and State Councillor of the Principality of Monaco.

The Arbitration committee

It is currently chaired by Mr Serge Guinchard, Honorary Rector and Emeritus Professor of Private Law and Criminal Sciences at the University Panthéon-Assas (Paris II).

The Scientific college

The Scientific College is made up of a president, counselors from the Centre and qualified individuals.

It aims to:

  • propose to the Board any changes or adaptations of the mediation and / or arbitration rules in respect to the practice and the evolution of law or jurisprudence
  • contribute to the publication of scientific articles in the field of mediation and arbitration.
  • participate in the selection of scientific topic events and conferences organized by CMAP.
